Our products all follow the same spirit – they unlock the opportunities in real estate, renewable energy and infrastructure projects and greatly reduce the risks taken by the sponsor when developing or buying an asset. Risks impact the valuation of a property. As we transfer them from our client’s balance sheet to the insurer’s balance sheet, the assets’ valuation, bankability and security rating improves. Our products are more cost efficient as they help to free up the capital that clients have to set aside for a potential loss. In fact, they enable them to redeploy their capital to further projects – thereby strengthening their return on investment.
MX Underwriting offers to clients four products: Judicial Review, Environmental, Ownership & Use and Title to Shares.
Ownership and Use.
Our innovative Ownership and Use (O&U) policy is our most comprehensive policy. Backed by AA- rated capacity, it extends well beyond standard transactional risk covers. While complementing warranty and indemnity coverages O&U also protects for risks common in real estate markets like Germany and France, such as identified risks, boundary disputes, permit issues or missing documentation.
Title to Shares.
MX Underwriting provides market leading AA- rated capacity of up to €250 million for Title to Shares insurance in the UK. Standard limits for France, Germany and Ireland are €150 million, insuring ownership more securely than ever. The capacity is readily available for transactions in France, Germany, Ireland and the UK.
Public Law.
In the development of real estate or renewable energy projects, permit issues recurrently arise. Permits may be challenged, delayed, modified or annulled. As a result, a project may no longer be bankable, or the investor may experience a loss as the earnings do not materialize as targeted. Our Public Law policy protects against any of these risks and also provides coverage if a challenge to a permit is already ongoing.
